Eleni Iakovidou


Eleni Iakovidou holds a law degree (LLB) from the Queen Mary, University of London and a Masters in International Business Law (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  She is a UK qualified solicitor having completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) at the University of Law of England and Wales and is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2010. Eleni is also a licensed Insolvency Practitioner, having succeeded in the Insolvency Practitioners examinations of the Insolvency Service in September 2016.

Eleni has been practicing law since 2010 when she had joined the corporate legal team of a major international business law firm in Nicosia and joined our firm in January 2017 as the Head of the Corporate Department. Her main areas of practice include Corporate and Commercial Law, Insolvency Law, Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering, Banking and Debt Finance and Cross Border Transactions.

She has been providing a wide range of legal support across the business, in addition to supporting and assisting with the development and implementation of compliance policies. She has been dealing with clients, regarding the process of incorporation of Cyprus international companies and the provision of legal advice and support to clients on contractual setup and in relation to new business ventures and has an excellent track record of delivering on all aspects of financing transactions.

Her main responsibilities include advising businesses on the impact, interpretation and implementation of Cypriot legislation and policies, informing clients about possible courses of action, identifying any areas of risk and acting proactively to minimize any liabilities, preparing legal opinions in a transactional context, appearing in court and other authorities for all client-related matters, as well as negotiating, drafting, reviewing and amending articles of association, shareholders’ agreements, share purchase agreements, international commercial contracts, corporate resolutions, powers of attorney and other corporate department documentation.

Eleni is a highly driven, disciplined and commercially aware team player and has gained valuable skills from her experience so far, such as the ability to tackle complex legal issues to reach well informed conclusions, technical skills gained from the preparation of legal opinions, reports and memoranda and the provision of ongoing legal support to a demanding corporate client base.
